This article is from the archive. GPSies is part of all trails now.
GPSies, who recently joined the AllTrails family, is a platform for sharing GPS files. Browse over 6 million tracks or upload yours. Create a route or search for a track by activity, print or download it to your smartphone or GPS device. GPSies also enables to convert GPS files, to almost any popular GPS format.
Track creator tool uses the routing engine GraphHopper which returns the optimal route between two points, using different algorithms. Hover over the layers icon to select map layers, or add overlays, such as waymarked trails, etc. Choose trail type using the menu pane on the right. Marking “Follow roads” will align the route, between selected points on the map, to roads or trails (when offroad). Upgrade your route by adding points of interest.
Other than the site, GPSies is available for Android and iPhone. Like other apps in the category, it displays distance and speed of a recorded track, which could be uploaded easily, either for sharing or private use only. Live-Tracking enables other users to follow you in real-time. The app comes with a variety of maps.
